How this site earns money
This site contains affiliate links. When you follow a link to a bookseller from one of our entries and buy something, the bookseller may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra and it does not change what we write: entries are chosen and written before anyone checks whether a book can be bought through a programme at all, and some cannot.
The programmes
Bookshop.org UK. Most of our links go here. Bookshop.org supports independent bookshops: every order also funds a pool shared between UK indies. Their cookie lasts 48 hours, which is why each entry carries its own link rather than one buy button for the whole site.
TASCHEN. For books TASCHEN publishes we link to their own shop through the Awin network, and that link leads. Their tracking lasts 30 days.
Where a book cannot be bought through either, we link to the publisher or say that we have not found a bookseller. Those links earn nothing. We do not link to Amazon.
What you will not see
Prices. Booksellers change them without notice, and a price that has gone stale is misleading. We show none.
Stock claims. We do not say a book is in stock or ships tomorrow; the bookseller's page will tell you.
Invented reviews. Every quotation on this site is from a named editor. We do not publish reader testimonials.
The label
Every page carries an “Ad” label directly under the header, before any book or link, and the buy links on each entry are marked as affiliate links beside the buttons. This is how the UK Advertising Standards Authority asks commercial content to be identified: before you engage with it, not in a footer.
